  • Terry Turbak

    Originally from Nebraska, Terry moved to St. Joe in 1980 and fell in love with the city. She founded Friends of Krug Park in 2012 to promote and preserve this beautiful treasure. She has been an advocate with the City Council for the voice of the citizens to be informed and involved in all decisions regarding the future of Krug Park.

  • Debbie Bouillon

    Debbie moved to St Joe from northern Iowa in 2019 with her husband, Kip. Kip works for Boehringer Ingelheim and Debbie runs their graphics business, Electronic Quill, as well as volunteering at the local animal shelter. They have 5 Neapolitan Mastiffs. The best discovery Debbie made when first moving to St Joseph was Krug Park. What a treasure!! Debbie loves walking all around the park with the dogs, from around the lagoon to hiking the back trails.

  • Judith Peters

    Judith Peters is a retired classical ballet teacher. She moved to St. Joseph from LA after a tour of the Parkway system and city conservation areas. Judith has volunteered through the years with wilderness and historic preservation groups, food pantries, various arts organizations, public schools, and children with disabilities. She is excited to be a part of the positive stewardship FKP is providing for Krug Park.

  • Courtney Crawford

    Courtney is a native ‘North Ender’ (Go Irish!) who works as a college and career access advocate and educator for TRIO Talent Search. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, watching the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas Jayhawks as well as reading. Her favorite part of Krug Park are the trees in the fall and has great memories of the paddle boat trips on the lagoon.

  • Paula Armstrong

    Paula was lifelong resident of St. Joe and lives right behind the park. She believes in the preservation of the quiet peace of the neighborhood around the park. and volunteered to help with many of the FKP events! Unfortunately, we lost Paula in early 2023, but her memory will be kept alive in the beauty of the park she loved so much.

  • Linda Smith

    Linda has been an enthusiastic and fun addition to the volunteer team. She is always willing to jump in at the last minute for our events and lend a helping hand wherever she can!

  • Lorinda Wente

    Lorinda is the head of our Rose Garden Team, a group of volunteers dedicated to the care of this central feature in the park. We will be focusing this year on restoring this beautiful spot for weddings and other special events that frequently take place.

  • Shea Armstrong

    Shea is a St. Joe native who grew up just behind Krug Park. She is an Ecopsychologist who guides city and state governments and non-profit organizations through promoting and preserving vital natural resources. She currently lives in Lawrence KS with her family and volunteers as a consultant with FKP. Her favorite part of Krug Park is the intricate trail system that supports low-impact recreation and nature connection.

  • Nancy Kelly

    Nancy is the owner of Kelly’s Tavern in St. Joseph and is a successful businesswoman. She has been an advocate for the fair and honest government of the city. She is passionate about preserving the park, asks the best questions and offers innovative ideas to solve problems.

  • John Fulmer

    John was born and raised in the St Joe area. He attended South Park Elementary and Central High School and later graduated from MIZZOU. He worked for General Electric Company as an inventor and engineer for almost 30 years with extensive world travel assignments. John is a founding member of FKP since 2012. John holds many nostalgic memories of his family’s frequent visits to Krug Park in its glory days of the 1940s and 1950s. He presently resides in KC North.

  • Bob Turbak

    Bob was born and raised in St. Joe, is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and is the husband of Terry Turbak. He is passionate about photography and has generously supplied all the photographs on our website.

  • Otto Sontheimer

    Otto’s great grandfather, a stonemason from Germany, built the awesome stone towers at Krug Park’s original entrance. Born and raised in Saint Joe, Otto grew up just a few blocks south of the park and spent countless of hours exploring every square foot of it. He especially loves the stone Pavilion and Children’s Circus, and the wooded trails through the back of the park. Now retired in Peculiar, Missouri, Otto still cherishes Krug Park like his own back yard.
